2022年7月9日,耶鲁大学关发达博士,应公司耿长冉老师的邀请,做客“材华讲坛”,于腾讯会议为50余名师生进行主题为“Review of Ultra-high Dose Rate(Flash) Radiotherapy”的线上学术报告。本次报告由耿长冉副教授主持。
放射治疗可以以足够的剂量杀死任何实体瘤,但会受到靠近肿瘤的正常组织损害的限制。因此,肿瘤控制和正常组织保留对于提高癌症患者的总体生存率至关重要。在临床实践中,降低正常组织毒性对于提高肿瘤杀伤力同样重要。在最近的一些初步研究中发现,当剂量率从常规剂量率(例如 2 Gy/min)大大提高到超过约 40 Gy/s 时,可以观察到对正常组织的显着保留作用。因此,被称为FLASH的超高剂量率放射疗法最近引起了相当大的关注。然而,FLASH效应的物理化学和生物学基础是完全未知的。关发达博士深入浅出介绍了 FLASH 效应的研究进展情况。本次报告让广大师生对Flash放射治疗研究具有了更加深入的了解,在场师生受益匪浅。
报告人简介:
Dr. Guan obtained his bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University in China and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Texas A&M University in the USA. He used to be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Physics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is currently working at Yale School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital. He has extensive experience in the application of Monte Carlo techniques in the field of medical radiation physics and radiation biology. His major research areas include the physical characteristics and biological effects of proton and heavy-ion radiotherapy.
